Computer KIT Mini - 2021
A self-assembly computer made from reconditioned components. The idea is simple: to offer an accessible, playful assembly experience that allows anyone to concretely understand how a computer works. But this project is more than just an educational kit: it also questions our digital habits. By handling reused parts, users become aware of the environmental impact of electronics and discover that alternatives to rapid product obsolescence do exist.
A new way to make computers
A simplified assembly system that lets users build their own computer in just a few steps, a learning-by-doing experience, a bit like assembling an IKEA furniture.
Pedagogical packaging
Each upcycled component comes in a didactic package that explains both its technical role and the resources required to produce it.
Everyday Integration
Beyond the prototype, ComputerKIT Mini is designed to fit seamlessly into everyday environments. The project was recognized at WantedDesign’s Conscious Design Award 2022, receiving an Honorable Mention for Social Impact.
