Computer KIT
A fully modular all-in-one computer built entirely from refurbished laptop components.
Through a dedicated upcycling pipeline, this project transforms discarded machines into functional desktop computers, challenging conventional electronics lifecycles while reimagining how we design, assemble, and repair our everyday digital tools.
Modular Mounting System
A custom 3D-printed support system designed to adapt 13"–15" laptop motherboards for desktop integration. VESA-compatible, it leverages the universal screw pattern found on most LCD panels, enabling flexible mounting options and easy assembly.
Hardware System
The case is built from symmetrical, laser-cut and folded metal sheets — a low-cost, widely available, and highly reliable manufacturing method.
Software & Interface
ComputerKIT runs on GNOME/Linux — a fast, lightweight and fully open-source environment. The project explores the potential of customized interfaces, and the growing power of cloud-based tools, proving that most users no longer need proprietary hardware to work efficiently.
Exhibition & Functional Prototype
ComputerKIT was exhibited at the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne 2025, as part of the Resources: Anticipating Tomorrow exhibition. This show reinterpreted modernist design principles through contemporary concerns : resource optimization, circular economy, and long-term product durability.
