Inspired by and named after the traditional, Indian musical instrument, TABLA is an attempt at using an industrially made upcycled sheet material made from end-of-life cotton to create a dynamic piece of furniture that aims for sustainability with regard to materials, production, and aesthetic. This table can be used singularly to make a unique statement in a domestic space and also in larger numbers at communal spaces like cafes, restaurants and stores. The solid textile board is milled numerically with a CNC to form a decagon. The cutting groove gives it flexibility and vertical strength.
